DEBRA ALEXANDER / JAMES GRANT COLLABORATIONS

The composing team of Debra Alexander and James Grant, both award-winning artists and dedicated teachers, have joined forces to compose melodically lyrical and harmonically rich new music. Their Holiday tunes have found particular success. "Cold Enough For Christmas" had its world premiere with soloist Maria Wirries in concert with Gloria Musicae and members of the Sarasota Orchestra, conducted by Joe Holt. Maria also premiered "Christmas Comes Tomorrow" in her annual Holiday concert at Sarasota's Glenridge Performing Arts Center.

'Alison Stuart' is the nom de plume (using their middle names) for Debra Alexander and James Grant's musical compositions specifically geared to middle and high-school bands, string orchestras and recitalists. Their music is available exclusively through Potenza Music Publishers.

A hallmark of the creation of "At Peace" was using video conference technology to join middle school, high school, and college band room rehearsals of the Potenza-Music-sponsored commissioning consortia to receive the direct feedback from the musicians. Great fun for everyone involved!
